Practical guidance for professionals making visits and managers supporting them.
SafeNurse is a safety-support tool, not an emergency service. It does not replace 112 or 999, your organisation’s risk assessment, supervision, lone-worker policy or emergency procedures. An alert is not guaranteed to be received, seen or acted on. GPS, networks, notification services, operating-system restrictions and battery status can affect operation. Contact 112 or 999 directly when immediate help is required and it is safe and possible to do so. In this preview, external SMS, messaging and telephone delivery are not active.
Use this workflow from preparation through a safe return.
Sign in, request access from the manager who supports you, and set a dedicated 4–8 digit safety PIN.
Choose a safety check-in interval, add an Eircode or coordinates, and select Start call.
Select Check in during the visit to confirm you are safe and restart your countdown.
If you move, open Update location and save the new Eircode or coordinates.
Select Emergency alert, confirm the location or visit reference, and send the in-app escalation.
Only after reaching a secure place, select I’m safe and authenticate with your safety PIN.
Consent comes first, and organisational procedures remain the real response path.
Approve only professional relationships you are authorised to support. Access remains revocable.
Active escalations show alerts shared after a relationship was approved.
Acknowledge the alert in SafeNurse, then follow your organisation’s real contact and escalation procedure.
The professional confirms safety using their PIN. Review the resolution time and optional note.
Enable location permission or enter an Eircode or coordinates manually.
Confirm access was approved before the alert was raised. Alerts are not shared retrospectively.
The app keeps a bundled offline guide. Try Check for guide updates again when connected.
Use the appropriate emergency channel and follow organisational procedures directly.
